Microlearning and gamification, shaped to fit the problem
Short modules, game mechanics, simulations, and assessments can boost learner engagement – when they suit the need. We start by analyzing your requirements, then recommend the right approach and quote it separately.
For learners with little time and a lot to remember
Front-line staff, sales teams, and busy managers rarely have an hour to spare for a course. Short, focused learning moments fit around their day and can support recall over time. Used well, they can also help reduce seat time for topics that don't need a full course.
Who learn between shifts.
Who need regular compliance refreshers.
Preparing for launches and customer conversations.
Building leadership habits one small step at a time.
Looking to reinforce a longer course after launch.
Formats we can develop for you
Each format is scoped and quoted separately. We recommend one only once we understand your audience, goals, and delivery channel – so the format always serves the learning.
- Microlearning modules – short, single-objective lessons for mobile and desktop
- Assessments – knowledge checks, scenario questions, and end-of-module tests
- Gamification – points, levels, badges, timers, and challenge structures
- Simulations – software walk-throughs and practice environments
- Scenario-based learning – branching decisions with realistic consequences
- Series design – a planned sequence of modules that reinforces learning over time
Analysis first, mechanics second
Gamification that doesn't serve a learning objective is just decoration. Our process ensures every mechanic has a purpose – and that your reviewers approve the rules before development begins.
- 1Needs analysis
We assess your audience, behaviors, and delivery channel, then recommend a format.
- 2Learning objectives
We break the goal into small, measurable objectives.
- 3Content structure
We plan the module series and the mechanics for each module.
- 4Storyboard
We script each module, including rules, scoring, and feedback.
- 5Client approval
You sign off on the design and scoring logic.
- 6Prototype
A playable sample, so you can test the experience firsthand.
- 7Alpha
Complete modules for review.
- 8Beta
Your changes applied, mechanics fine-tuned.
- 9Gold
Final, fully tested SCORM packages.
Designed to track in your LMS
Engagement formats are only valuable if you can see what learners did. We plan tracking at the storyboard stage, so completions and scores reach your LMS exactly as your reporting requires. WCAG-accessible builds are available on request, and we'll flag any mechanics that need an accessible alternative.
Articulate Storyline
For game mechanics, scoring, variables, and simulations.
Articulate Rise
For short, responsive microlearning lessons.
Custom HTML5
For game formats that go beyond authoring-tool limits.
Why teams trust us with engagement formats
Points and badges are easy to add. Making them support a real learning goal takes thoughtful design. That's why our instructional designers lead every microlearning and gamification project – and why we only quote once we've analyzed your needs.
We'll tell you when a simpler format will do the job.
Our instructional designers define the mechanics, and our developers bring them to life.
Our QA specialists check scoring, branching, and tracking before anything reaches you.
Through Localize, we translate games and assessments, including Arabic right-to-left layouts.
The same team can develop your main course, the microlearning series, and the hosting.

Microlearning and gamification FAQs
What is microlearning?
Microlearning is short, focused learning – usually just a few minutes long – built around a single objective. It works well for reinforcement, refreshers, and learners who are short on time.
Does gamification improve learning?
It can boost engagement when the mechanics support the learning objective. It doesn't suit every topic, which is why we analyze your needs before recommending it.
Why are these formats quoted separately?
The effort varies widely with the mechanics, the number of modules, and the level of interactivity. We scope each project after analysis, so your quote reflects what you actually need.
Can microlearning run on mobile?
Yes. Rise lessons are responsive by design, and we develop Storyline modules with mobile use in mind when your learners need it.
Can we track scores in our LMS?
Yes. Our modules are published as SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004, so they can report completions and scores to your LMS.
